Succes Story

In March 2023, DGS successfully completed a project for a new production line in Oosterwolde. This project involved the installation of two robotic packing lines, palletising boxes per full layer. Due to the limited space available, it was a difficult task to know how to achieve an efficient process. However, through a high degree of automation, DGS managed to overcome the obstacles and complete the job. But that’s not all: the output surpassed previous expectations significantly.

Automated process for optimum efficiency

For the construction of the new production area, there was a demand for high-quality packing lines that could operate both efficiently and quickly. DGS designed and implemented an automated process that included five SCARA robots, an automatic box erector, a palletising robot and automated cold store. Despite the challenge of limited space, a seamless working environment was created that benefited production.

A smart move: the palletising robot

DGS went one step further by installing one powerful palletising robot that operates both packing lines. This innovative robot lifts complete pallet layers of boxes in one smooth motion, making the palletising process fast and error-free. An additional advantage was that only one robot was needed, which was not only cost-efficient, but also takes up little square metres.

Cooperation based on trust

The cooperation with DGS was based on two key factors: flexibility and trust. Geovani da Silva, Senior Manager of Engineering Maintenance, speaks highly of the cooperation with DGS. He emphasises that DGS was attractive because of their flexibility in terms of layout and technical specifications. DGS was open to other ideas and showed flexibility in adapting the design to meet the company’s specific needs. Geovani appreciated DGS’ willingness to develop solutions based on the customer’s wants and needs. ”Instead of offering standard solutions, they strive for customised solutions that deliver the best results.”

Future growth and opportunities

Thanks to the successful project, the Oosterwolde-based company can look to the future with confidence. With its efficient packing lines and automated storage facility, the company is well positioned for further growth and expansion. DGS will continue to work with the company to meet new challenges and provide them with innovative solutions that strengthen their competitive position.
