DGS offers innovative solutions for organ cooling in beef, veal and pig slaughterhouses. Our organ cooling systems are designed to maintain a low initial germ count and preserve organ quality. By cooling organs quickly and efficiently, bacterial growth is slowed down, product shelf life is extended and weight loss is reduced.
It is essential that organs have the right core temperature to meet veterinary and food safety standards. Therefore, organs such as the heart, liver, tongue, lungs, stomach and intestines are chilled immediately after inspection in crates, via conveyors or on conveyor belts. These systems ensure that the organs are lowered to the right refrigeration temperature so that they can then be packed for further purposes.
With our automated cooling systems, we can achieve cooling times of up to 3 hours. They are also easily accessible for technical maintenance and repairs to avoid long downtimes. DGS can also supply all organ cooling systems in full stainless steel, for easy cleaning.

Organ quick chiller
At DGS, we offer automatic organ cooling using conveyor techniques to expedite the cooling process. Our quick cooling options include direct belt cooling and water tank cooling. With belt cooling, we utilize a rapid-freeze tunnel that rapidly and uniformly freezes the organs. Water tank cooling can be integrated as a module into the conveyor system.
