Succescase
Böseler Goldschmaus and DGS have recently completed a successful collaboration. The current installation dates from 2002, with parts even going back to the 1990s. To remain future-proof, Böseler Goldschmaus has devised a progressive multi-year plan to expand and optimize the existing slaughter line in Garrel. The aim is to increase capacity and reduce costs.

Capacity focus
A key part of this project is the transport system provided by DGS. Through a conveyor system, carcasses are lifted from the slaughter hall to the chill cells, then automatically transported back down to the cutting rooms. This automation not only makes the process more efficient but also eliminates the need for personnel in carcass transport.
Dennis Burke, director of the Goldschmaus Group, looks back with satisfaction: “In Oldenburg, on a previous project, we already had a good experience with DGS. The direct communication, quick and effective contact meant we chose to collaborate again. The biggest challenge was linking the old slaughter line to the new system. We only had a weekend for this, but it went smoothly everything was planned and coordinated in advance.”
Gambrelling System Optimizes Slaughter Process and Cold Logistics
Besides constructing the new chill cell, a new hook system was implemented. The system switched from Euro hooks to gambrels:“This creates 30% more space in the chill cell and results in a more efficient and consistent slaughter process.” For this, DGS completely adapted the existing slaughter line and implemented automatic tracking. “Thanks to these adjustments, we now have a spacious cold storage with higher quality and better traceability.” says Dennis Burke
DGS and Böseler Goldschmaus: moving forward together
With the construction of the new cooling cell and the modifications to the existing line, the first step in modernization has been taken. The old cooling cells have been decommissioned, creating space for further expansion.
“There was mutual understanding of each other's challenges and, through close cooperation, problems were always resolved in good consultation. The wishes of Böseler have been fully realized.”
