Succes story

Steinemann, with several facilities in Germany where both cattle and pigs are slaughtered, came into contact with DGS a few years ago. What started with an initial meeting developed into a strong partnership in the following years. To improve the efficiency and quality of the slaughter line in Steinfeld, Steinemann turned to DGS for the modernization of their outdated and worn-out slaughter line. DGS installed an innovative stainless steel chain and a 30-meter-long curing tank. Thanks to this new installation, the meat quality has noticeably improved, and fluctuations in quality have been minimized.

A record-breaking conversion

The biggest challenge of the project was the limited space and tight schedule. There was only one weekend available to complete all the work. Thanks to detailed planning and an efficient approach, the conversion began on Friday afternoon immediately after the slaughter of the last pig. By Monday morning at 7:00 AM, production was fully operational again.

“The conversion was carried out extremely professionally and well-coordinated, allowing us to restart without any issues on Monday morning,” said Eugen Baidinger, Technical Manager at Steinemann.

Increased Capacity and Improved Meat Quality

Since the conversion, production has been running at full capacity. With a processing rate of 300 pigs per hour, the new installation is functioning optimally, with expansion potential up to 450 pigs per hour.

Thanks to the new stainless steel scalding tank, meat quality has significantly improved. The consistent temperature during the scalding process ensures optimal results: hair removal is more effective, and quality fluctuations have been minimized.

According to Eugen Baidinger, the new installation integrated seamlessly with the existing systems:
“After starting up the line, everything was precisely fine-tuned by the DGS team, and the connection to our existing systems went smoothly. Our staff can operate it easily. Looking back, we will certainly consider DGS for future projects.”

Strong collaboration yields results

With this successful collaboration, DGS has proven to be a reliable and expert partner in slaughter line modernization. Aron Steinemann, owner of Steinemann, is highly satisfied with the cooperation:
“The collaboration with DGS was excellent. Communication was clear and fast, allowing us to adapt efficiently. DGS understood exactly what we needed and immediately provided a targeted solution to our problem.”
