Bleeding lines for pigs

After stunning, it’s crucial to perform bleeding of the animals with high regards to animal welfare. DGS systems ensure fast and complete bleeding, contributing to humane slaughtering practices and enhancing meat quality.

Horizontal bleeding

In horizontal bleeding, the pig slides from stunning onto a stainless steel slat conveyor. The slat conveyor is modular, so the length and the way of collecting blood can be customer-specific. The table is entirely made of stainless steel, which makes the installation durable and easy to clean.

Vertical bleeding

In vertical bleeding, the carcasses are raised hanging from the hind leg and transported per conveyor. This way, the carcass is easy to reach for further processing.

    Bleeding elevator

To ensure that the carcass is raised the right way after horizontal bleeding, we use a bleeding elevator. The elevator raises the carcass to the buffer rail or conveyor system. Hooking is done at a height that is safe and ergonomic for the operator.
