Tracking and tracing by DGS

Traceability is very important in the food industry. It allows the origin of the product to be traced throughout the chain. Not only does this contribute to food safety, it also ensures that targeted action can be taken in the event of a recall. This prevents entire batches of good product from being recalled. We provide traceability within the meat industry via RFID chips and 2D codes.

  • Targeted recalls in the event of problems prevent the destruction of good products
  • Increased food safety
  • Insight into the entire production process, from farmer to fork

In the slaughter process, animal data are scanned via the ear number and linked to RFID chips or labels. Further on in the process, the animal data can be transferred to hooks, crates or other product carriers and data systems. Via labels and tags, we then ensure that the collected data stays with the final product at all stages of the production process. Thus, the entire product history is transparent, from farm to fork!
